Our daughter Margot was born in December 2020 which meant no baby shower, in-person NCT meetings or family popping round, and definitely no real idea how to navigate this ridiculously monumental life event with everybody in lockdown.
Obviously life as we knew it returned, but what remains with me to this day is the experience that being a mum (at any stage of life) more often than not means that we're the ones who document events so that there are lots of lovely photos of partners/family etc with the children but very few together.
I would love to change this. Forget overly-posed-beach-frolicky-bump-holding-dress-fluttering photos, I'm here for the day to day. We're going to Tescos? Great! Need to visit the Post Office after the school run, no problem! Looking back I wish I had lovely candid photographs of my daughter & I doing nothing important together apart from learning who each other were at our own pace.
